About

Laurel Fox is an Australian artist and jewellery designer based in Sydney, Australia. During her MA at UNSW's College of Fine Arts Laurel developed her unique gifts for jewellery design with strong aesthetic appeal. She often chooses to work with with vintage and recycled objects, African trade beads, crystal and gemstones, and freshwater pearls. Laurel applies an intuitive and sensitive approach to the microscopic details of the making process, as well as to the composition of the work. Her pieces have a distinct focus on colour and form, with her design background showing through amongst the colour combinations and the placement of specifically chosen elements.

Since launching her label in 2009, Laurel's designs have been sold through fashion boutiques, design galleries and online. Laurel also works to commission with private and commercial clients and has a strong interest in cross-disciplinary making owing to her studies in other creative disciplines. Before studying at COFA Laurel completed her Bachelor Degree in Multimedia (IT) and lived in Paris, designing lingerie and fragrance packaging. Laurel has seized opportunities to engage with and promote several artforms over many years and is also an accomplished watercolour painter, graphic designer and mosaic artist.
